The legacy that will make a difference
Leaving a gift in your will to the hospice is a lasting legacy that will change the lives of local families in the future.
Thank you for considering leaving a gift in your will to North Devon Hospice. A gift in your will is one of the most valuable ways you can help us to continue providing care and support for people across the community.
When thinking about your will, it's only natural to think of friends and family first, but leaving a gift towards our work too will help us plan for the future with more security. This year over 20% of our income came from wills, so it is safe to say that, without people remembering the hospice when writing their wills, we would simply not be able to provide the same care and support that we do.
A gift to North Devon Hospice in your will is a lasting legacy of support and we are always touched by the generosity of people who leave something to us. Last year this amounted to just under £900,000 in donations.
It is thanks to the support we receive in peoples' wills that we can continue so much of our work. Gordon Jackson is someone who has decided to leave a gift in his will. He says: "When I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, my hospice nurse provided both kind and thoughtful counselling. I still call into the hospice from time to time, both to have a catch-up with my nurse and for a bit of peace and quiet. For my part, I believe in helping those in need and therefore I am making a gift to the hospice in my will so they can continue their essential caring work in our community. I would encourage anybody to do the same so that the hospice can provide support to patients and their families in times of great need."
We are always so very grateful to everyone who includes us. Through the gifts of others, we can continue to support patients, their families and friends across the community.
There are many different ways of supporting the hospice in your will, once you have looked after your nearest and dearest. You could leave a specific gift of money, a share of your total estate, or even an item of property or stocks and shares. It all makes a real difference and will help us care for local people in the future. It truly is a legacy that will change lives.
