Jailbreak is a unique and lighthearted event which will see participants arrested for fictitious crimes, perfect for raising some laughs. If found guilty of their 'nonsense' crimes, they'll be booked in for a short stay in the cells as they attempt to raise bail from anyone and everyone they know.
Join us for a fantastic day of ‘tongue in cheek’ fun, all to raise vital funds for North Devon Hospice. If you're looking to get a colleague, boss, or friend "behind bars" for their habits or lack of effort, you could choose a "crime" that's humorous and relatable.
Last year’s felons committed a plethora of crimes ranging from ‘giving the wrong directions’ to ‘raising the steaks on vegan produce’ and together raised over £15,000 for North Devon Hospice in exchange for their freedom. Bail will be set at £1,000 per offender, but don’t worry, as all funds raised make such a difference to our patients and their loved ones, we will unlock the cells at the end of the day!
The day starts at North Devon Hospice, Deer Park where you will be allocated your overalls and prisoner number. You’ll be treated to a bowl of ‘prison porridge’ before our local Police Constabulary (all off duty officers!), will place you under arrest for the crime you have ‘supposedly’ committed, before escorting you to their police van.
You’ll then enjoy a short journey down to Barnstaple Police station where you will spend a couple of hours in the comfort of His Majesty the Kings cells (lunch included). From here this is where you’ll be set the challenge of calling and contacting everyone you know to help you raise your bail!
Once released, you’ll be transported back to Deer Park where your freedom will taste oh so sweet with an afternoon tea and cake.
"Chronic Procrastination": They’re always leaving things to the last minute? A perfect candidate for jail for "failing to meet deadlines."
"Excessive Email Forwarding": Constantly forwarding irrelevant or spammy emails? They could be "charged" with overwhelming everyone’s inbox.
"The Coffee Thief": Always stealing other people's coffee or food from the office fridge? A perfect "criminal" for this event!
"The Desk Clutterer": Someone who has piles of paperwork, half-drunk cups of coffee, and snacks everywhere? They could be "arrested" for creating a hazardous work environment.
Should you choose to hand yourself in for this challenge, our fundraising team will support you every step of the way. Get in touch to find out more.
